Greg Myers Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Called "Topical" collecting, you could put together quite a nice collection of U.S. stamps with just an automotive theme. Up until the early '70's there were only about 27 different U.S. stamps with an automotive theme and you really had to search for them. Now, wow, even Hot Rods. Edited March 1, 2016 by Greg Myers
Harry P. Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 The USPS put out a series of "muscle car" stamps a few years ago. Pretty cool.
Harry Joy Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 FYI, if you are buying in bulk, postage might be going down soon.

I will add those to my collection but no Dodge truck???
Earl Marischal Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Why is "Forever" crossed out?steve PS Nice stamps!
Deano Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Why is "Forever" crossed out?steve PS Nice stamps! To prevent those so inclined from printing these out on their own thus, basically, printing counterfeit stamps.
Harry P. Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Actually, you could assemble a pretty cool collection of stamps that feature autos on them, especially if you include stamps from all around the world.
charlie8575 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I have NEVER seen that one at all. This can't be common. Charlie Larkin

From around the world ? I think a lot of young stamp collectors get lost in this quagmire only to tread water long enough to realize they'd better pare it back a bit. There out there , and being topical you'll find just about everything there is in the automotive realm.I really like the anual releases from Monaco. These are F1 oriented.

I think a lot of young stamp collectors get lost in this quagmire only to tread water long enough to realize they'd better pare it back a bit.If you're talking about one specific topic, like cars on stamps, you can assemble a really nice topical worldwide collection. Of course, trying to collect stamps in general from around the world is impossible. It would be a full time job, and you would need an endless supply of $$$.BTW... why are most of the images you posted in this thread missing?

Greg Myers Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 I was wondering the same thing. I started out with a nice stock book allowing me to move them around.
