This is the look I'm going for...a "stock" '64 T-Bolt as it was delivered to one of the race teams right from Ford. This picture clearly shows the aluminum front bumper and the fiberglass hood that were used to reduce weight.

Here are a few pics of the 427 FE engine that Ford commisioned one of their local suppliers to literally wedge into the Fairlane. Don't try this at home, the 427 FE WON'T fit into the stock engine bay of a Fairlane.

No, the air cleaner setup is not currently glued to the carbs. This engine is such a tight fit in the engine bay that the headers don't get installed until after the engine is mounted to the chassis and the air cleaner assembly isn't installed until after the body is fitted to the chassis. I was impressed with how well the ends of the radiator hoses fit up to the radiator that is integrated into the radiator support assembly. Good job, Revell!!

very nice work so far!!! ya, these cars are really cool, especially when you read the history and that on them!!! you had to go to the factory itself to pick one of these bad boys up!!!

Yeah...I got a DVD of the car's history that included interviews with Phil Bonner and Hubert Platt. It's a really interesting car and the DVD addresses a lot of the history about it.

:unsure:;) I'm glad to see you working on an original muscle car....Can't wait to see your take!!

If it turns out like I want, it'll look just like the 1:1 picture.

I was thinking of working on the wheels next. They need to be painted white, the lug nuts need to be painted a steel color and the valve stems need to be painted black. Then I might get really adventurous and add some wheel weights. All combined, that could easily take me about a week.

sweet build! one of the local racers here owns a 64 t-bolt that he runs everyonce in awhile.

i'll say this those cars are monsters! from dead stop to wheels up to shut down in under 10 secs is a gut wrencher.

Nice start Raul, got one of these on the way too, hopefully The brit Post office will have done its job and delivered to the wrong address again! Gonna be probably box stock with a bit of detailing.

Check out the DVD that Amazon carries on the T-Bolt. Besides the interviews with Bonner and Platt, there's a lot of good pics of the engine, chassis, interior and trunk areas.

Good job so far! :angry: I really like the concept of plain factory racers and I'm planning to build a '63 Fairlane lightweight myself, so it will be very interesting to see what this will look like when it's done.

Great start on one of the baddest rides ever built. I like how you went with the natural tones instead of the chrome for the air box.

Thunderbolts were made near me and I remember my dad pointing them out as we saw one or two being "tested" on the road. I was too young then to really understand just what was I seeing but I will always remember that rumble they made.

Interesting to note that according to a Ford book I have there was one 1965 Thunderbolt built.

Looking forward to seeing this build come along,

wow that is if your not busy looking at the pictures in the instructions

All I have left to do is paint and BMF the body!! Everything else is built and ready for final assembly!! :lol:

Check back in a couple of weeks. It's "almost" done... Everything is painted and built except for the body. I had to wait for the LHS to get me more clear. I have it now and plan on painting and clear coating the body tomorrow. ;)

Looks awesome so far. I just recently heard that all of Ford's 427s were painted semi-gloss black and not light blue like I've thought before . If its not to much trouble do you think if I send you a pm with my e mail you could forward those T-Bolt pics to me as well. Thanks a lot and great build.
