Most forums I am on this would not be allowed, but in a (now locked) thread down in the General section someone's admitted he's done it a couple of times.

Just curious.

Thanks,

Russ

No. The person has been banned, not the username. Moderators give people ample chance to correct bad behavior before banning anyone. That's what warning points are for.

That's what I thought, but this person says he's been banned twice and is still here, under a third user name.

Edit- I just saw in another thread where the offender has been banned, again.

and of course I just saw above my own post here the "report post" Link. If I had seen it before I would just have done that. Sorry all. Sometimes I am blind to the obvious.

Thanks,

Russ

There's really nothing that can be done to actually ban someone with a little technical skill and the desire to be a nuisance. Typically, bans function one of a few ways...via the users' public or private IP address, or MAC address, all of which can be spoofed, changed or hidden with a small amount of effort. What I don't understand is if someone's already been banned multiple times for behavior, why would they even want to keep hanging around? It's clear nobody wants to put up with their shenanigans.

If you guys see something, use the Report Post link in the thread.

It works!

I have it set up where I get almost instant notifications, I think the other guards do also.

On that one person, haven't had time to dwell into this.

Just a heads up, I keep a printed copy of all problems, and it's filled up over three file folders already, they may need their own filing cabinet, not including the screenshots of everything that went on, which is why I haven't been able to address the aforementioned incident/person. I know, da legal beagle wording.... I speek gooder...

Several times recently I have received a "you have been banned from this site" when I attempted to view a post. I have zero warning points, so there might be a software hiccup rearing it's ugly head.

You aren't the only one who thought he has been banned when in fact you have not been. It's definitely a software problem.
