Mr mopar Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Is the body of the Revell 70' Torino GT the same as the 70' Torino Cobra ? just the body .
unclescott58 Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Basically. Just minor trim differences between the two cars in real life. Mainly grille and taillights. The GT has louvers on the quarter panel, just in front of the rear wheels.
Can-Con Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Yes, the bodys are the same. The louvres for the GT are moulded to the body and have to be sanded off for the Cobra version.
Mr mopar Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 Thank you that's what I needed to know Awesome!
Fat Brian Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 The early ProModeler GT version and the yellow Cobra versions have a slightly different body than the green car that's out now, they changed the rear quarter panel area because they got it wrong the first time. There's a thread about it somewhere.
Mr mopar Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 That is why I asked ,so I could get the correct body's .before I build them so I will need two green kits.
1930fordpickup Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 That is why I asked ,so I could get the correct body's .before I build them so I will need two green kits.Yes Doug, The current kit on the market is the one you want. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Ford-Torino-GT-2n1-1-25th-Plastic-Model-Kit-Revell-4099-NIB-/331603116270?hash=item4d351600ee:g:lQ0AAOSwPe1UE1Im Here is a linc to kit box art
Fat Brian Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) Thank you all.No problem, I had bought a ProModeler GT and two yellow Cobras and had to recently buy two new green ones to get the corrected body. Edited April 3, 2016 by Fat Brian
monza77 Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Why could Revell correct the body on the Torino but do nothing about the current Camaro, 'Cuda and 5L. Mustang?

Fat Brian Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Why could Revell correct the body on the Torino but do nothing about the current Camaro, 'Cuda and 5L. Mustang? It took them a decade to do it, they fixed the 57 Ford pretty quickly so hopefully they're getting around to it.
socal76 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Fat Brian, Do you want to get rid of one of the Torino Cobra's? I want one for a Nascar conversion. I have the GT. but it is not correct for a Nascar version. That is what I want to do with my build.

My goal is to build one mildly modded Cobra and then use another to build a King Cobra with a resin nose I have so I'll need both of the Cobra style taillight panels but will have an extra Cobra grill.
