BIGTRUCK Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Decided on doing a 36 Ford hot rod from back in the day. This is not the current issue but the tires are, its one from early 2000 , it had some extra parts but only the stock roof. Skirts are parts box, front wheels are drilled for a 3 bar spinner and are also parts box. Using the flat head and just building as I go, really dont have much of a plan Opened the roof and cowl, dropped some front and rear..
bismarck Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Lookin Good Ken!!! Its hard to beat the look of the old Hot Rods. They had a style about them that the new stuff will never have. Candy paint? Maybe a set of lakes pipes?
vintagedragcrazy Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Hey buddy the little man is right if you need anything for your build let me know I have quite a stash of parts lookin gooood!!!!vince
BIGTRUCK Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Mock-up and fitting done. Cut out a section of 58 Chevy grille for the front and sunk in stock 58 Chevy rear lights on the back. Added spot lights and sunken antennas..Now I can start assembly..
BIGTRUCK Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 (edited) Lookin GOOD Ken. What colors are you looking at? Thanks Kevin, Vince and David..thinkin about metallic blue or green..white and body color accents inside.. Edited April 4, 2016 by BIGTRUCK
bismarck Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I like blue, but I see green being a better match on that one.
BIGTRUCK Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Like the grill treatment. Whats nice about using this grille shell is you can make it taller or wider or any design you want and pretty much you can alter another kit grille to fit..
charlesdcamden Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Man, some satin purple with white scallops and some lakes pipes would scream "Valley cruiser" lol. But i like your choices too dont see too many of these 32's done in lead sled fashion.... Its definitly different in a good way!
BIGTRUCK Posted April 7, 2016 Author Posted April 7, 2016 Got the paint on this week ''Lime ice '' lacquer, light scuff the paint and got it clear coated , its dry to touch but I'll wait a few more days for polishing..
BIGTRUCK Posted April 10, 2016 Author Posted April 10, 2016 Rounding the corner on this one.I just have to get the interior done and get the rest of the chrome on. Maybe some gingerbread off the Revell 49 Merc decal sheet..maybe.. May get it done tomorrow or Monday........
