Brizio Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Here the body painted. Still waiting for the hood, doors, tailgate etc... I did not glued the fenders on the body like the instructions said, because I think it is easy to paint them separately.
Brizio Posted May 24, 2016 Author Posted May 24, 2016 The engine almost done, the rest of the wire, carburetor will be added when the engine is on the chassis with the body.
Twokidsnosleep Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 I always like looking in on your builds...waiting for the curveball on this one. OOB is not your typical style
Brizio Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 I always like looking in on your builds...waiting for the curveball on this one. OOB is not your typical style True Scott, but this time I'm building it stock... Nice work to date. Looking foward to seeing more. Thank you Andre!

Brizio Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 Also enjoying watching your build. Never saw one of these before. Thank you Bruce! I think they imported them in the US, but did not make a lot of success. Here are the doors.
crazyrichard Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) looking great !! i have seen these irl many times ... in my childhood i have spend a lot of summer in france (rural france) my grandmother was french ... i have had 2 citroen xantia's .. they where not allowed in the us because they have hydro suspension ... funny if you think about it ... lowriders ?? hahaha but a factory hydro suspenssion was banned there was actually a decal under the hood stating it you could actually set it up real high and real low ... not drivable then .. the high setting was for obstacles .. oh and you could fill up the trunk with heavy stuff and it would keep the back up , pump it more to keep it level one thing is for sure that was so comfateble !! Thank you Richard! I drove for a while a Citroen XM, very futuristic car talking about shape and also that one you could lift it as you want without compromise the comfort inside.
1972coronet Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Very cool , Fabrizio ! Wasn't there a military version of the Mehari which had two engines ? Perhaps I'm confusing it with another Citroën ?
Brizio Posted June 1, 2016 Author Posted June 1, 2016 Very cool , Fabrizio ! Wasn't there a military version of the Mehari which had two engines ? Perhaps I'm confusing it with another Citroën ? Thank you John! I think the 2CV Sahara is the one you talking about. Small update, the steering wheel-column.
crazyrichard Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Thank you Richard! I drove for a while a Citroen XM, very futuristic car talking about shape and also that one you could lift it as you want without compromise the comfort inside. yes i knw the xm > same suspension as the xantia .. so that xm is there in the usa ? i.
Brizio Posted June 1, 2016 Author Posted June 1, 2016 yes i knw the xm > same suspension as the xantia .. so that xm is there in the usa ? i. No was in Italy. Dark metallic green color, and I think it was a 1998 model. Steering wheel in position. The speedometer and fuel level are missing in the kit, so I used some decals I had.
Brizio Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 Interior looking nice Thank you Andre! Looking great so far. Thank you Peter! She is coming along Briz Thank you Scott!
Brizio Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 I ordered this kit from the Heller website, and this is the box it came in. The seats on the kit are from the 2CV kit, and they have diagonal shape that make a romboidal pattern. I made them flat, so they match the rear seat. Also a arm rest/holder for the passenger was added.
crazyrichard Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 i saw one on the road today , not a shiner and not ratty .. just well used a pale blue color.... i had to think about this thread instantly could not take a picture sadly
Brizio Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 i saw one on the road today , not a shiner and not ratty .. just well used a pale blue color.... i had to think about this thread instantly could not take a picture sadly Your lucky day! A car that you don't see every day on the road. That unfortunate for the picture, but maybe you will see it again. Here some progress on my model. The interior is done, and I add some detail on the engine, still need some more.
Twokidsnosleep Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Would be a very cool beach car, truck, whatever She is looking good
