Harry P. Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I know you don't want anyone to correct your grammar or spelling because this isn't "grade school," but the name of the car is Willys. Not "Willy's." The car doesn't belong to Willy... it's not Willy's car. It's a Willys. Pronounced "Willis." As in "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?" Ok, enough grade school lessons. The model looks fantastic, and you have some serious painting skills!

Your going to drive you're self crazy if you keep at this. Thanks for the comments on the build, much appreciated. Just as a heads up. You're in box might get a bit more active, as I'll (posesive) be submitting all my future post's for you're editing. Thanks in advance for you're co-operation. I think it's pretty cool! Thanks DanR really cool, nice work Thank you Edited July 27, 2016 by Rider
Intmd8r Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Ulbo- Thanks, I think I need a dio with some hippies and bell bottoms, lol.I'd like to see that!
Rrrrrrumps Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Detail is in the ROOF! You nailed some of the paint jobs that started to appear in the late 60's and carried over until about '73...maybe '74. A lot of work and planning went into some of those paint jobs, and like yours some were "far out mannn!" You really nailed, and a good study for those that are interested in doing the same. Go with the flow..."fire in the hole!" Now bite the bullet!
Rider Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Thanks man, it definately took planning. Although it did go off the rails near the end. Might have a little to do with the roof, .
bobthehobbyguy Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 That is one wild over the top paint job. Allbthose different paint styles look right together.

Rider Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Both are pretty cool. The second name would be good for that Tom Daniels drag bus if it was painted right. Hmmmm.
iamsuperdan Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Although I don't personally like the finished look, your paint technique is fantastic. Your skills are bang on. Looking forward to seeing a less busy finish on future builds.
Rider Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 Thanks Dan, I appreciate your honesty and compliment. I agree it's a train wreck as a collective finish, but to be honest it kinda grows on you.
Rider Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 I'd like to see that!Maybe some day Steve, but for now there are more exciting projects I am interested in.
