In reading the review, the one thing I noticed is that when he wired the engine, he ran the wires to the back if the engine instead of running them to the distributor (that looks like a blob on many of the AMT flatheads) which is located in the front of the engine, below the generator and above the lower crank pulley.

I thought "they" were reissuing this kit back in the original AMT logo.

I believe this is just a matter of time before it will be. the problem is that Lindberg made a ton of these not that long ago.

I didn't realize that the Lindberg kit was the old AMT kit. Cool.

I have a couple, but would buy more either in the Lindberg box or the old style AMT box if they reissue them again. There is just something about this particular kit to me that screams COOL!:D

I remember when Round 2 first announced that they were purchasing Lindberg, they specifically mentioned that they planned to reissue (eventually) the '34 Ford truck as an AMT again.  From the time Lindberg first released it in 1991, I think they pretty much manufactured it continuously, at least until Round 2 bought them.

My local Hobby Lobby still stocks it.  It's one of their lower priced kits, but it's one of the few that they carry continuously.  They never seem to put them on clearance, which tells me it must be a steady seller.

I agree, Round 2 is going to need to wait for all that glut to get bought up and probably then wait a few years for interest to generate again.  Then they will need to go their Retro Deluxe route with some retooled original parts.  Obvously the custom wheel covers are currently MIA, not sure what else if anything has been lost to time.

About a year ago I got to thinking I should probably get another of the Lindberg versions from HL while they still have them.  Think the list price was $16.99.  With the trusty 40% coupon that knocks it down to $10 and change.  Just remember, look past the awful 90s box art and bad custom wheels and remember you're really getting a 3 in 1 AMT Trophy Series kit for that price, and easily at least 90% of the original parts are still intact.

Oh yeah - my newer version was molded in white, unlike my version from the nineties that was molded in bright yellow, as shown in that article.

The HL I usually go to did put them on clearance, as mentioned in the thread I started in the General section about HL clearance in Glendale, AZ. I only bought one at that time. Went back this past week, all gone.

Should have bought more than one but I wanted some other kits as well and this was a duplicate of what I already have. Oh, well. I might have to go HL'ing at some point (if I can get some more cash to spend) to see if there are any left anywhere else in the metro Phoenix area. My goal is/was to build one of each box top versions, and have a couple of others to build however.

Still waiting for this kit to comeback as an AMT kit. Even if it can be picked up cheaply as a Lindberg kit. I still want one in an old style AMT box. With AMT's old style instructions. I don't know why, but I really hate the way Lindberg did instruction sheets before Round 2 took them over. This kit is one Round 2 needs to do their magic to. Give us back the kit as an AMT.
