modelfink Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I know it's probably junk, but my neighbor gave me a 250 Badger and a can of compressed air. Are there any advantages of using this over rattle cans? Any specific applications that they come in handy?
eastown Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Have had one for many, many years. Would not have painted 5 car bodies in total without some sort of issue. Sent it back to Badger 3 times and every time it comes back it never works properly. ( to my liking) Do not even try using it anymore. Bob
Snake45 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 my neighbor gave me a 250 Badger and a can of compressed air.Find out what you did to offend him, and apologize.Do you already airbrush--are you already set up with a compressor or other good air source? If so, it you can get it working, that 250 might do a nice job applying final clear coats to projects. I bought a Chinese knockoff airbrush at a flea market for something like $12 and that's what I use it for--and it works great for that.
modelfink Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Well, it was thrown in for free on top of a box full of rattle cans, (some unopened) so I'm not complaining. I do not currently have an airbrush. I was thinking of experimenting with the cheapo badger unless you guys tell me it's not worth my time. Edited August 22, 2016 by modelfink
Snake45 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 The can of air is likely to sour you on the whole airbrush experience. Those things are completely unsatisfactory.
W-409 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I've painted many bodies with Badger 250 and that can of air. I think it works great and I've done only good results with it.The reason why I've moved back to spray cans is that I can't seem to find good paints to be used with that airbrush. Revell and Humbrol Enamels are great, but their clears aren't that good... And I have always clear coated my builds... Once I find out a clear coat that will work, I'll take up the Badger again and start using it.
