I recently found this old Mopar engine while going through an old parts box.

I was wondering does anyone know exactly what kit it came from? It is molded in light green and looks to me to be a JoHan piece?

Thanks.

'62 Chrysler 300, optional induction system if I recall correctly, but I don't have one here to check. Other Johan Mopars had it too, I think.

Johan molded quite a few in light green during that era.

Definitely JoHan, but pinning it down to the exact kit might be a little more tricky as they used that same engine assembly in several different kits, mostly different years and variants of the Chrysler 300. The color doesn't help much to pin it either, as JoHan was known for having the kits molded in whatever color was available.

Most of those I've seen were painted black with the ram tubes painted red. Not sure if they were all done that way, but for a future build of mine ('61 Chrysler 300G) the block was painted black.

Thanks Bill. I never would have thought of that color combo for this. I was thinking that corporate greenish blue that some the B blocks came painted with. Good info.

Thats a Jo-Hans, Mopar 383 with the long Cross Ram intake! Was in the Imperial, and or the Dodge Dart, early 60's. I'd almost KILL for that motor LOL
