redneckrodder Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Hey guys, I picked up the re-pop of the revell/monogram f350 the other day as a comeback to 1/24 &1/25 while I'm not working on 1/64,and being the OBS ford fanatic that I am I knew I had to have this kit and build it the way I would if I had it parked in the driveway (I have a 92 7.3 f350 in my driveway but it's only srw) so that meant it had to be a 4x4 and diesel...I'm working out the front end parts to make it 4 wheel drive but as far as the engine goes I still have to work on it but I have made a little bit of progress and I'll post the pics in another post, just figured I'd start a thread and show y'all what I've been working on
redneckrodder Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 So far I've estimated the proper ride height, painted and detailed the interior, put down the main shots of color on the body I just need to do a few touch ups,Installed lockouts in the front rims and "custom made" new tires for it (took Goodyear trackers and the non branded version of the same tires from the snowplow kit and some other kits).I had to cut a section out to make them fit the rims and I've installed some lift blocks in the rear so it has the height for the 4wd front axle...I've been pondering if I should build a gooseneck flatbed trailer for it,I just have to find the right size ball to put in the bed...anyways just thought i'd post pics since its been awhile since I've shown any work on the forum..thanks for looking
redneckrodder Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 Hey guys, not much progress but I went to hobby lobby this afternoon to get a bottle of testors black and to see if I could find some material to put on the subwoofers I'm putting in the rear sice there's no seats back there,I got some material that should work as the carpeting but unfortunately walked out with graphite met. Instead of black....I've learned my lesson, read the label before you buy them...so I painted the lower rocker with the graphite met. And I'll just go back tommorrow or sometime and get black to touch up the top section
Petetrucker07 Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Nice work so far. Good to see you back building some bigger stuff.

mustang1989 Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 I had one of those about 15 years ago and wished I still had it. I may end up getting this one again at some point. Build on brutha.
Jordan White Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Interesting build so far, love these kits! One question, what did you use to paint the silver on the interior parts?

Jordan White Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 model master silver on a toothpick Ah okay. Might I suggest picking up a couple silver Sharpies from the store? They have a good tip on them for doing small details like that trim, and it provides a more even coverage than a toothpick.

I used to have a few of them around here but they went on vacation, there's a lot of stuff I need to find and buy,but all in time I suppose, thanks for the tip
redneckrodder Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 Well I finally got some more work done to the ol dually, installed the front axle last night and painted the hood and frame today considering it was a whole 61 degrees today, started working on the trailer for it as well, its not the best by any means but will do the trick
gatorincebu Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Interesting ! Paint is looking good.I like the color combo . Looking forward to seeing more work on that trailer . Be Well Gator
redneckrodder Posted February 1, 2017 Author Posted February 1, 2017 Interesting ! Paint is looking good.I like the color combo . Looking forward to seeing more work on that trailer . Be Well Gatorthanks, the trailer is pretty flimsy so I need to either figure out a better Frame or build some bracing but I kind of expected that since it's all scrap sprue
redneckrodder Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 Starting to work on the motor and I'm curious if anyone knows of a kit that has valve covers similar to these,I thought about shaping some from a small block 350 but not sure that I can do it without almost starting from scratch
redneckrodder Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) Well I found a set of valve covers from the Revell 2 in 1 68 charger kit, installed a gooseneck ball, and put in the lights and grill, there's also a sub woofer and resin amp in the back seat threw a cb in the front seat and had to have the 18 speed shifter, still got a long way to go but I'm making slow progress Edited February 8, 2017 by redneckrodder Extra pictures
