I have noticed that some models that people build have brake and gas pedals.

If they don't come with the kit, how are they obtained? Or do the modelers make it themselves.

I would like to get a brake\gas pedal for the dodge charger I'm working on.

Most, if not all, model car kits from the 60's onward well out to even today, if they had pedals, they were molded to the underside of the instrument panel.  It's only been in the last 10-15 years that a FEW kits of 50's or 60's cars had separate foot pedals. in my experience.

I'm one of those that will make my own if necessary. This is where the 'net is your best friend! Just look for interior shots of the car you're doing, and more than likely there'll be pics of the dash with the pedals showing.

They're not hard to make, and does add to the realism of any interior.

When I rebuild and detail promos of 50's cars the promos (and Modelhaus resin kits) usually never come with pedals, so I always make my own using either trimmed sheet plastic glued to plastic rod, or, PE pedals glued to plastic rod.  I'll drill a hole in the floor or firewall area to insert the other end of the plastic rod.

Actually most of those oldies had them molded into the interior tub floorboard. I don't remember when I saw my first ones molded to the instrument panel. '80s, maybe?

There might have been a few molded to the dash in the '60s, but I'm pretty sure the "norm" was to have them on the interior floor.

A source of pedals is the small Parts Number tags on the "trees" . File to shape . Proceed to suspend (pendulum) or drill a hole in the floor and glue in stretched sprue of correct length/diameter . Notch the backside to locate/center the newly shaped  pedal to install to the top of the 'arm" . paint it and call it a day when done .. I hope this helps .. Thanx ..
