Decided to do a pair of Thunderbolts. One is painted Model Master Flame Red. The other will be Wimbeldon White, or Racing White. The red one is pretty much ready to go together. The interior will be Champagne, with some tan mixed in to break it up. I painted the car, and cleared it, and it ended up with a bit of orange peel. I Micro Meshed it down from 3200 to 12000. and then polished it with Novus 2, then Novus 1. You can still see some peel close to the rear window molding, that I didn't want to sand too close to. (See pics). Started foiling it, but hopefully some more BMF arrives tomorrow. Any comments on the orange peel situation are welcomed. I think it should look ok.

Thanks, John. Did a little work today on the white car. Still waiting for BMF to arrive. Should be here tomorrow. Sprayed the white car Racing White Tamiya. Also got just about everything painted except the interiors of both cars. Here is a couple pics of the white car, with its wheels, and engine.

And the engine and wheels for the red car. Waiting for some tan color wire to arrive to do the Accel plug boots.  I was thinking of painting the spokes of these wheels a flat aluminum color, to get rid of the shininess.

what primer did you use under the flame red paint??  any under coat??  what kind of clear coat??  oldr-n-drt

I used Plasti Kote gray primer. I wanted to darken the red a bit. Didn't plan on having a "correct" looks T  Bolt with this car. Not saying the other one is going to be correct, but a closer color to what they came with. Then sprayed Model Master Flame Red base, and clear.  It's that two part lacquer system.

These are going to have to wait. I was polishing the wind shield and cracked it in half. Then the other one I had was beat up bad. So until I get glass for it, I'll work on my 66 Fairlane.

look good in red, nice job, can't wait to see the white T-Bolt

Thsnk you. I can't work on the white one until I find another windshield. I had some bad luck by cracking one, and then robbing one from a kit that had a deep scratch in it. I'm probably going to have to get another kit when I see one for the right price.

Pm me an address. I can send you a windshield. I have multiples of these kits and at least 2 of them will be drive train / chassis doners for my 64 Comet builds

Tom your T Bolt looks great can't wait to see the white one finished. I've been following your 60's builds as its one of my favourite era's in motor sports.

Got some work done on the white car. Thanks to fellow member Zen for the windshield. Pretty much ready to put it together tomorrow. Would do it tonight, but my back is pain again. Two spinal injections and the medicine is wearing off. Between this car, and the Bob Ford Galaxie, has tired me out. Anyway here is a few pics of what I did today.

Thanks. No problem with the white car. Only the red. I did rub it out but left it alone by the rear window trim. Was afraid of messing it up there.

Finished it up last night.IMG_0524.thumb.JPG.6ed0eaacb5709ff118fd9
