BIGTRUCK Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) This Mercury as seen in the ''on the bench ''section , started out clean and unpainted, only problem is someone sanded everything off, so I added some strips on the body sides and fender tops. Drilled axle holes higher to lower car, added door handles from Revell 60 Chevy, headrests may be from 62 Buick Im not sure. Wheels were parts box, 59 T-Bird steering wheel and phone. 59 El camino spotlights, kit supplied custom taillights.Color is Testors ''Root Beer'' lacquer ,inside was a combo of Nutmeg satin and Vellejo ''red black''. Scroll decal hood and trunk Revell '49 Mercury. I used new and improved bare metal foil on strips that I added without problems. The ''A'' frame was done with old foil, wouldnt lay right, not the foils fault my foil was just old. Edited November 27, 2016 by BIGTRUCK
Ben269 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 That looks really sharp. I like color scheme, and the unusual subject choice!
Tom Geiger Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Nice save! Great work on something as old as me!
