Scalper Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) Finished this one up last week. Body was already painted and chassis partially assembled. Kit was missing some parts. But still enough to have a half decent looking model. Painted the hood flat black did not know what colour was used got the body. Painted all the body trim tail light grill and BMF on windows. Photobucket is messed up getting worse by the minute. Will try to get all the pictures posted. Edited December 2, 2016 by Scalper

mikemodeler Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Saw one on the road in Charlotte yesterday and was surprised to see it wasn't all rusted out! Nice save, looks good!
High octane Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Was that Scout built from an original ERTL kit, or no?
Scalper Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 Thanks guys. I got the kit for 10 bucks the way it is. Don't know much about the kit but was told it's rare. Sounded like a good deal. Here's the box art.

Rider Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Always liked those trucks. The kits are a bit of a dog, looks like you managed to do it up quit well.
Scalper Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 Thank you Rider. Good thing too that the builder that started this kit was a pretty clean glueing parts.

Just asking as I do not know. No that's the same kit. A bit simple, from the era of before Ertl owned AMT and did a few kits on their own. There are a few other versions including one with door openings. I have one 3/4 done. I added a bench seat to mine, using photos of a 1:1. I also felt compelled to add some detail items under the hood since it's pretty empty in there.
kilrathy10 Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Turned out pretty good, Man....I liked this kit when I built it.....Fun.....

As nice as the Tractors and Semi's that ERTL put out I was thinking this somewhat simple kit was AMT's work from the 80's.
Yahshu Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 That's cool. It's nice to know it's not just me who's having problems with photobucket
1930fordpickup Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 I have to say I am sorry for not complimenting Andre on his nice Scout before I was rambling on with questions. This came out very nice Andre. I like the color choice you made.
426-Hemi Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Nice work Andre! I just got one of these SAME box art too. and I plan to make mine like one a close family friend had when I was growing up.....
Scalper Posted December 13, 2016 Author Posted December 13, 2016 Thank you. 426 hemi sounds like a cool project. Do you have a pic of the 1:1?
