BIGTRUCK Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I ordered this kit online with other items and kit arrived destroyed. The seller made good on it and let me keep the kit.The body was broken in half at the windshield, one side of the ''A'' frame gone and all breaks in the plastic were not clean breaks,Im waitjng for some items for the 60 T-bird Im working on so I figured why not fix this kit,so here goes....... Used some evergreen strips to beef up the breaks underneath and white areas on the top side is Tamiya putty. running boards were also busted up, so now Im making a set of new ones, rear mags were busted up too which seemed strange, but easy parts box fix for those.. Im not sure which way to go with it yet but it always figures itself out
BIGTRUCK Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 Body work done, final mock up and ready for primer. Any thing white is Tamiya putty I used to fill the cracks from the broken body. The steps are all new also. The wheels were also broken, replacement wheels are parts boxbut match was pretty close paint will be 2 tone Yellow and White.
BIGTRUCK Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 Paint on and dry, not much to this kit. Should get it done this weekend.
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Nice save. Wow when you say destroyed the post must have driven over the box For that much damage.
DumpyDan Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 You must have gotten a real good deal and piss him off, because I am sure this was not pictured. You have done a really good save, nice work
BIGTRUCK Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 Chassis done,, not much to it or the interior, besides its all covered up by green glass. Drilled out the header pipes and used ''Detailer'' on the steps.
1930fordpickup Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 This turned out nice. How is this truck compared to a regular pickup? Size comparison for a regular armored truck.
BIGTRUCK Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 This turned out nice. How is this truck compared to a regular pickup? Size comparison for a regular armored truck. I think its an '' it is what it is '' kit. Its a 1/24th scale kit but if you start introducing 1/25th scale medium duty truck parts in the mix you will see the body is on the small size.
1930fordpickup Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Thanks Ken I was thinking it was small. Just not sure.
OldNYJim Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 What a great build so far! Will be following your progress!
