Just bought a new model car kit for my son.  Figured it would be a good project for us.

I haven't built a model car since I was 12.  Excited to get started on the project.

We live in Burbank CA.  My son is 11.

What is the best place on the forum to ask questions?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome. A little farther down the board is the Model Building Questions and Answers section. You may be able to find the answer to your questions without needing to ask. There are a lot of knowledgeable folks here that are willing to share what they have learned.

Welcome Boris..!  Great you and your son are building together...I have very fond memories of building with my dad.  Ask anything you need someone will be able to help out here...great bunch of people here.

I too started building after a 30 year lull when my son was about your son's age. Alas, he never got hooked, but I DID again! Hope you have better luck, but our kids are their own selves and I wouldn't trade him for anything. :)

Welcome to the forum Boris, why not get the same kit for yourself, that way your son can copy from you at the same time, my dad did this with me and it made me feel great that I had made the car (a 48 Ford Coupe, I still have) all on my own,

I was hooked then and still am, that was 50+ years ago now, I do miss my dad, but I do have my models his tips and techniques are still used today, also loads of really good memories of making models with him as well!!!

Please remember, your never to old to model.

Rgds,

Foggy 2.

Welcome to the forum. It's good that you're building things with your son. Even if he doesn't get the bug, it will be good times. Take a look at the science fiction subject too. My kids don't build cars, but they do build Gundams,  Main thing seems to be that the subject is interesting to them.
