I found this started kit while looking for another kit I was going to trade off. I started this one about 15 years ago, I shot the paint on it and quit. I don't remember why I quit working on it. Anyhow here it is after a couple of days working on the interior. I wanted this one to be really nice, since I will probably never build another 66 Fairlane. This one will be a GT/A with the stock GT 390 with a automatic trans.

Looking great so far.

Try foiling the trim on the tailights.

When foiling the body, the entire "A" column is chrome. Just like on a '66 Galaxie.

Yes the "A" Pillar is supposed to be all chrome. AMT missed that foot note !! LOL!!
Thanks
I may try that in the tail lights too.

What color tan did you use for the interior?

Larry, both Colors are Testors Enamel. The darker is "Flat Interior Tan"  #2738
The lighter color is "Flat White" #1168

I got a little more done this evening. I've been working on the stance, and putting the Chassis together. I cut the front shock mounts out of a old junk 69 Fairlane Cobra body, but I'm not sure I like how they look. I also did a little work in the 335 hp 390, for it. No pictures of the engine yet, soon LOL!! Thanks for looking & enjoy...  :)

Very nice build. The interior really stands out with the lighter contrasting color. The 1:1 cars from long ago all to often had a black interior or a blue in this case. I built one years ago and fought getting the interior and chassis into the body and the wheels wanted to stick out of the wheel well openings. Yours is looking very nice in deed.

Hi Floyd - Love Fairlanes andthis is looking real good. The interior is super nice. Foiling it is a real pain in the neck but you did a nice job on it. Keep it coming.

Thanks David, I learned a trick on these kits a long time ago, take the spindles and turn them upside down, and slam the front to the ground. :)

Thank you Donald. I have a slew of these kits, that I have built over the years. It's probably one of my Favorite kits. I wanted this one to look as good as I can make it. As you can tell by all the stuff I post it's Mostly FoMoCo branded. LOL!!
