Marc Weller Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Does anyone else find this kit to be small for 1/25. The rear tires are of a considerably smaller diameter than those found in typical 60's Revell drag kits. Thoughts?
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 For what it's worth (I don't have the kit) I HAVE seen some folks use the FRONT wheels to re-center with 15" PE wire spokes, and 15" is significantly undersized from the 17" -18" wire wheels common on old diggers of the period.Point is, if the fronts are undersize, the rears may very well be also.Do you have a diameter of the rear tires and wheels handy?
Daddyfink Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 No, they are about right for the time period of the car. One must remember that Dragsters and equipment evolved rather quickly in the 60's
Muncie Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Just a couple of thoughts...Replicas and Miniatures makes a tire and wheel set to replace the slicks in the kit - still about the same size but a lot better. The 1960's Revell slicks are 16" and it looks like Revell was going for the earlier 15" wheels on the slingster.
