Mahogany Rush Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) Finally found the old kit that I was searching for thanx to a modeler on this site! I wanted to build a replica of my 1/1 72 Luv truck pictured below. It has a 350 Chevy with CJ-7 running gear. The kit comes in light blue, but it wasn't quite right, so I repainted it with Rustoleum Spa blue. I did not like the teeny axles that came with the kit, so I put a 3/4 ton running gear under it with some awesome tires from scenes unlimited. I had to extend the frame a bit and tussle with the fitting of the transfer case. I built a cross member (not shown) and trimmed the depth of the gas tank as well as the spare tire mold to make the rear end fit. Added some color to the interior and my first attempt at using embossing powder for carpet (came out ok) and added double shocks. Final mock up for ride height check. Still going to build bumpers and roll bars when the styrene rod comes in the mail. Awaiting glass in the mail as well. Here is big brother with little brother, LOL. Thanx for looking and thanx to all of you fellow modelers for posting your projects. Edited February 8, 2017 by Mahogany Rush

Can you tell me what tires those are from Scenes Unlimited?Later- They are the T21 SUPER SWAMPER 37", but it looks like they are sold out. I also grabbed a set of the T12 TRXUS M/T 46" for my full size 66 Fleetside project. Their stuff is great and they are very easy to deal with.
Reeves Racing Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Nice project.I like the Stomper 4x4, I haven't seen one of those in years.
