Howard Cohen Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I am working on the Tony Nancy Dragster, combining the 1963 kit with the 1991 kit, using as many old parts as possible, and filling in with the newer (now 26 years old) kit. I decided I didn't feel like painting, so I covered the body panels in Bare Metal Foil. I am so lazy This will be followed by the Roadster as I like the older red plastic better than the newer silver plastic.
espo Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 That's different. How many sheets of foil did it take. That's a lot of work, can you really cover the inter body panel with one piece at a time??
Howard Cohen Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 I used less than 1 sheet. The chassis pan is 1 piece, as well as the nose piece and cowl. The drivers cover was 3 pieces and 2 small patches. It took about 2 hours. I am going to use some BMF polish next.
Bernard Kron Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Looking very nice indeed so far. It must have taken patience and care to get all that BMF to lay down smoothly. Bravo!I just finished a modified version of this car, a Jr. Fueler featuring a "shorty" body from Altered States and a SBC injected motor. You can't beat this kit for detail and period authenticity. Revell really brought their "A" game when they engineered it back in the day. Interestingly, on my build I opted for a bare aluminum look as well, although in my case I used Krylon Premium Chrome paint to get the effect.I may have to consider posting future drag builds on the regular On The Workbench pages rather than under Drag Racing models 'cause it can get mighty quiet over there, LOL!
vintagedragcrazy Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Awsome job bernard as usual!!!!Vince
