It took a lot of filing and sanding but I got it to look ok to my eyes.

Engine is tight in the chassis!

Just for fun, I made my own coil over shocks using red wire.

Experimented with rivets. Drilled out all the rivet marks on the engine cover and pushed .035 rod through, sanded them down, and painted the engine cover gloss aluminum. Next, I painted the cover with clear red to simulated anodizing. Finally, I carefully removed the paint above the rivet heads. A lot of work!

Fuel injection system was plumbed and ignition wires and boots installed.

Very cool build and idea...!  Where did you get the earlier small bumper nose from...I have a Gremlin I want to back date to the earlier small bumper ones like my uncle owned...?

One of the Jersey shore model car club members gave me a body and some parts so I don't know where the grill originated

Thanks Walter....I know years ago the made a Gremlin funny car kit that had small bumpers, etc. for the older body style...could be one of those maybe..?

I'm pretty sure that the grille came from the funny car kit as that kit was in my "pile of parts" that included the Funny Gremlin decals.
