This 68 Corvette was built 3 or so years ago for my son who is a big fan of this gen of vettes. I like them too! This one is out of the box with fireball model works tire decals. Paint is a GM color from that period in Testors lacquer but I don't remember the name or code. The kit went together really nice and was fun to surprise him with! He wants a 72 to add to it soon in Elkhart Green he says. Someday soon! Thanks for looking

Very, very nice! I think your paint might be Honduras Maroon. I did a '62 Corvette in that and it looks very very similar in pictures. Great color for a great build!

Very nice OOB build. Amazing what can be done with a little attention to painting detail under the hood. The color Maroon went by different names at different times. Honduras Maroon is probably the best known name. The other name I recall was Marlboro Maroon. Not sure if there was any difference in the color, just marketing.  Either way it looks great.

Well, there were also different shades of the maroon. Honduras Maroon was a '61-'62 color. Marlboro Maroon was the '67 color, and I know that it was not the same as Milano Maroon which was the '65 or '66 color.

Well see I knew that they had several different names. I just never realized that they different shades. You seem more knowledgeable on the subject.

Good info! I'm not super knowledgeable about GM colors but had this in the paint drawer and thought it would look good on this car, and Dan loves it.

This looks killer! I'm also a huge fan of this generation of Corvette! I've got the '72 kit that I'll eventually get to. Not much difference between the '68 and '72, right?

The major visual difference is in the front fender vents. Several little detail differences, but yes, they're pretty much the same car.

Very nice build on that 'Vette Chris as I was wondering if I should build my '68 'Vette kit, or sell it. Guess I'll keep it and hope to build it.

yep go ahead and keep it! Heck, I've got a closet full of kits I'll never get to lol
