Use paint to resize the pic?  I'm no expert here but I seem to recall doing several resizes on my pic to be able to use it here.  I'd say ask harry, but that won't work.  I think the website guys name is Ambrose.

Thanks Jim, I will try that.

Profile photos are handled differently than regular photos posted to the site. You profile photo is basically a thumbnail photo and is very limited on physical size as well as size of the file. You can use Paint or any number of photo editors to resize a photo to the acceptable size.

Well, it seems to be variable. What is listed under my profile is now lower than it was. Mine says .17mb, but I know it was at least .24mb in the past.

To check, go to your profile, click on your profile photo (or the generic place holder) and you will see the options available to you. It also lists the acceptable file types.

Sorry for taking this out of my head, but the pixel size is what matters. Pretty sure it's 150 pixels.

I don't do photos with my phone, so can't say how to resize them with that.

Both the physical size (pixel width and height) and file size (mb) are limited. I don't have access to the settings, but the site definitely lets you know when you have it wrong and I think it then lets you know the limits.

Not sure how to resize on a Mac. Does it have something similar to Paint?

In Paint - Open your photo, select resize, click pixels, select width or height and type in 100.

Looks like 100 pixels is the max height and width (without having to scale or crop when you import it into the forum). 0.24mb is maximum file size.

In thw windows paint you can also change the file type.  this also has an impact on the size of the photo.  you will lose some fidelity but for the size it is almost imperceptible
