Chris Smith Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Hello out there!I found this kit online and purchased it. I was wondering has anyone built this kit? Any tips would be greatly appreciatedThanks Chris.
Chris Smith Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 I have painted a few motor and oil cooler parts, waiting to get some paint I ordered
Nacho Z Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Cool model! I do not have this kit but have several Tamiya 1:12 kits. I would test fit everything. Check the tires. My JPS Lotus had the wrong rear tires. I have heard that the tires can get out of shape(?) from sitting so long. I have also heard about kits of this vintage being motorized at one time, therefore making the cockpit too shallow and parts of the drivetrain can be compromised. My JPS Lotus, which can be found on the forum, had a few of the larger parts warped. Most everything fit very nicely but then I would have some parts that did not.Good luck with your build! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.
Chris Smith Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 Thanks, this kit did come with a driver figure.will do with checking the fitThanks!

Chris Smith Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 Thank youThe 312T looks like a nice kit, I just wish company's would produce more large scale kits.

Chris Smith Posted May 8, 2017 Author Posted May 8, 2017 Chris: Thanks for the links, I placed an order with RB Motion!! now I have to tell the wife
Chris Smith Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 This is kind of an update..... LOL I just received some alclad aluminum, polished brass and some clear I also got some small goodies from RB Motion realizing I will need to order more! I was wondering if any one knows where I could find braided line? I kind of need it in .125 would prefer Black if its available So hear is the sad part I will not be able to get some quality time to work on this. But the best part is my Daughter is graduating college and she is moving out of the house; I get a HOBBY ROOM!!!! Plus the wife has a few projects that's going to keep me a little busy
Belugawrx Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Oooooh sounds like you are going into, more detailed paint work,..?Congrats to your daughter,!!!Best braided line, I have found at Detail master,...A/N fittings and lines,...Or, depending on the scale,...Micheals beading aisle,...Good luck and Cheers
Belugawrx Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Bruce: Thank you! Three moves! wow must be hard to find time to unwind.I have seen the work you have done on the WR1, it looks amazingOh, and ...I am moving again,....so ...no updates on anything, until at least August....Keep on sniffing...!Cheers
peteski Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Yes, Pro Tech braided line has a more realistic weave than the Detail master. He supposedly had it custom made to his specs (instead of just using electrical shielded cable used by Detail master).
Chris Smith Posted May 23, 2017 Author Posted May 23, 2017 (edited) Bruce: Yup, going to do more detail painting also going to ad more detail to the radiator and I am going to re do the oil coolersAnother move!? must be hard on you and your family. Hope all goes wellNick and Peter going to get some stuff from Pro Tech soon, thanks for the tip. Seems to be the place to goNow if I could just wrap my head around small sizes I will be golden.....LOLWhat are people using for battery terminals?
