Saw this on facebook. I didn't think he was as old as he was...

Sad to hear this. I had a chance to see them several years ago on one of the reunion tours. So glad the neighbors and I went up to Pine Knob (north of Detroit) to see them. What a fantastic show.

They played our tiny college auditorium, which held maybe 2500,  during the Freeze Frame tour.  Next night they were playing a sold out show in the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh.  It was a great show.

Loved the J Geils Band!!

Sad to hear that J Geils, along with so many other great talents I grew up on are passing on!!
