This is an old Lindberg Ford that I couldn't decide how I wanted to build so I sent it to the graveyard. I suspect it was an old moonshine runner back in the day. The only thing it's loaded with now is bees.

I think I seen this car ... it's behind a shed out in the woods on the other side of Dawsonville as you're headed towards Auraria.

Just kidding, but it sure is something you could find out that way.

Are you sure them bees ain't hornets?  There's a lot of them up there too!  AND snakes.

Nice job!

I'm not far from Dawsonville. I use to eat at the Dawsonville pool room and visit awsome Bill's shop on occasion back in the day.

Love this build.  Particularly impressed with your rust/weathering effects.

Was there a WIP thread?  I'd love to learn how you created such a great rust effect.  Perfectly subtle.

1.  Me too.

2.  Me too!  Best Burgers in NoGa.

3.  Hey ... ME TOO!  Wait ... which one?  The old school building?

Don't forget the great museum and free shot of White Lightning over at the municipal building.

Small world.

BTW ... if you love stock car racing from back when they were REAL Stock Cars and not this tube and fiberglasS BLAB-BLAB-BLAB-BLAB ... you MUST get to Dawsonville.  It's pretty much where it all began.

The old school building shop is the only one I ever visited. I make it a point to eat at the pool room every time I'm within twenty miles of there. That place never gets old and the burgers are huge. I've been to the museum several times since it first opened years ago. I've not been since it reopened and added the moonshine. I've been meaning to got to the moonshine festival as well.

Hey Tommy, I don't mean to thrash up your thread ... but if you like that area ... and LOVE old stockers ... you might want to read Driving With The Devil, by Neal Thompson.  Its a great book about the bad old days and the start of Stock Car racing ... get it used on amazon.

There's a lot of Georgia Boys on this forum ... maybe one day we'll all get together, take the tour of the museum, get a taste of Georgia's finest and grab a burger at the Pool Room.

Hi Ted, I've got that book and it's a great read to say the least. Some other great books on North Georgia moonshining is "Mountain Spirits" and "More Mountain Spirits" both written by Joseph Earl Dabney. Then there's "Agents That Fly" and "A Breed Apart" both written by North Georgia revenuer Charles H Weems. Charles Weems was the man who first implemented aircraft into moonshine tracking.

P.S. I'm aways up for a pool room burger.

Nice weathering job... I built one a couple years ago, that looks fairly similar. Thanks for sharing!
