Started off as a ’50 Chevy glue bomb with missing chassis, engine, and interior.  Used a Flea Market ’53 Corvette find to fill in the blanks.

This was mainly an exercise to try the salt weathering technique and opportunity for some creativity.

WOW... nice looking weathering job! And fitting it with the vette... look like it was meant to go together.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, it was a fun little experiment.

The guy who sold me the Corvette kit told me that I was wasting my time trying to fit it under the truck body.  It was satisfying to show him the pics of the final result a few weeks later

Very cool combination of parts! I wouldn't have thought to try and put the two together. on the other hand I'm putting a '57 vette frame under a '40 Ford right now, so I guess it itsn't too crazy. The seats in particular look like they were made for the truck.

Cool weathering job too...definitely looks like it spent a long time out in the elements!

Thanks Chris.  I wanted to use a less common engine in this build, once I found out what was missing from the glue bomb.  SBC in pick ups have been done to death….

The in-line 6 from the C1 Corvette is often referred to as the truck engine, so the ’53 was the best (cost effective) source for that engine that I could think of.  Things go out of hand from there..
