futurattraction Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 (edited) It is a combination bolt/stud with integral nut. They would replicate something like a head stud or wheel stud with nut attached. I don't recall the diameter of the stud, but am hoping they would be somewhere in the .020-.030" diameter range. As I recall, they are machined out of metal. I don't recall the vendor. If this description sounds familiar to anyone and any leads can be offered, I'd appreciate it. ScottPS: I should add I have done some searching online and looked at the Hobby Design rivets and a couple others, but haven't had any success so far. I'm hoping it wasn't Scale Hardware that I recall seeing these posted on, but it's certainly possible.I may be behind the times, but I just googled Scale Hardware and the site is back up under new ownership/management. Cool! I am still interested to see if anyone knows of any alternative sources, because the ones shown on the Scale Hardware site don't look like what I recall seeing. Mike Chernecki Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 RB Motion has Nut and Stud pins in the sizes you are looking for.
futurattraction Posted May 1, 2017 Author Posted May 1, 2017 Thanks Mike. Robert has great products...
socal76 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Scott, I have also seen them in grey plastic on Hobby Link Japan. May not be exactly what you are looking for, but they were a lot cheaper!
iBorg Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Go to a well stocked hobby shop that deals with trains. Ask there. I believe they are made by Grandt Line. If you're foing to make them dirty and grungy, I'd go that route instead of the beautiful stuff from RB Motion, plus they'd be a lot cheaper.
futurattraction Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 Thanks for the suggestions, guys. They're all good ideas...
Ben Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Hi Robert! In metal, your best bet is RB Motion. For plastic, I get them from Grandt Line and Tichy Train Group.
Ben Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Also, Robert at RB will make things to your specifications as well. I've had him make quite a few different types of lug nuts and other items.
futurattraction Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 Thanks Ben. Yeah, I have had Robert do some custom stuff for me, too. I finally found what it was that I had had floating around in my head. It is from T2M, though it doesn't seem to be available anymore, at least not that I've been able to track down.

sfhess Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Jameston Kroon, the proprietor of Scale Finishes, had some tiny hardware for sale at his table at the GSL Trade Show. Not sure if he sells it through his website, but worth a look.
futurattraction Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 Thanks a bunch, guys. I appreciate the link to BNA and it looks like Scale Finishes has some really nice looking rivets I hadn't been aware of.
