Johnt671 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) I finished this a while ago and was waiting for a sunny day to show the gold flecks, but that's not going to happen here. I have a thread in the workbench section if anyone wants to see the whole build, This is the two kits. I got the Ford for Christmas and the racer at Ollies a few years ago. We got off to a bad start with a bent frame, but I got it to go back into shape. It all went together pretty good. I was amazed at the detailing of the Kurtis motor, the wash really made it pop. Thanks for looking. Edited May 2, 2017 by Johnt671
DumpyDan Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Nice work, the paint looks awesome. The whole think blows me away, nice nice nice
espo Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Really turned out great. I like the "new tires" wrapped in the bed. That really sets the time line for this build.
Johnt671 Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 Thanks for the kind words. Here's a closer shot of the truck. Here's a close up of the motor. It's a parts pack 427 Ford with a resin carb. I didn't have headers for this motor, so I had to use manifolds from a 302 Mustang kit and use heat to get them to line up on the 427. This was my second shot at using a pin vise to do the spark plug wires and the first non-hemi motor I've wired. Next come the boots for the plug wires. I missed posting this picture earlier.
Intmd8r Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Excellent work - I've been following this build from the beginning. The push bumper on the hauler is probably my favorite addition to the truck. You have the makings of a nice little diorama there.
donb Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Excellent build. I like the truck, the car, the paint, the decals, the details. Pretty much everything. Sharp!
Johnt671 Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 Thanks, When I got the Kurtis the box referred to two kits that would come with the trailer hitch, an older woodie wagon and the 50 Ford pick up.Since I hadn't built a pick up since before I started shaving I went that way.
XJ6 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 WOW.....I am lost for words, the talent I see on here is just amazing....
Silver Foxx Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 A lot of real nice detail in this , looks terrific , well done .
