Modelbuilder Mark Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Have you tried matching acrylic clear glosses?
Carnutter Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 Do you mean the same paint and gloss. The car is painted in a Vallejo red. I used north of there gloss and still didn't come out to a gloss look. It looks flat.
droogie Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Try the Tamiya Acrylic clear gloss with their proprietary thinner. It is an acrylic lacquer and can be sanded/polished for a higher gloss.
Snake45 Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Check out hardware or home improvement stores for water-based clear gloss polyurethane. You might have to experiment to find one that works for you, but if you do, it'll cost FAR less than typical hobby products--a small can might last you the rest of your life.
dublin boy Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) Halfords or any motor factors have clear coat that's acrylic,if you don't like rattle cans you can decant it.and spray it without thinning. Promatic is great if you can find it.Do a test to see if it suits your base coat though. Edited May 19, 2017 by dublin boy
