MeatMan
Hey folks. I did a search of the site and the most promising recommendation for creating the type of diamond upholstery in the pic was to use BMF over some wire screening. Does anyone else have other ideas? Any input would be appreciated, thanks. This is the interior of a Renault Alpine. The door panels also have it.
ChrisBcritter
If the pieces are fairly small, look for the seat and door panels from the Monogram '40 Ford pickup - it has a very similar pattern and you can cut pieces to fit. Otherwise you'll have to use a straightedge and a scribing tool, then scrape the pleats into a rounded shape. Good luck!
ScottH454
I watched a video from Dr Cranky's youtube where he made it using thin foam, think he used egg carton. Just press a straight edge against foam an it should leave a crease that you can pattern how you want. https://youtu.be/FtjpNmkubqg
Bernard Kron
I've made diamond patterned panels using Evergreen Tile Pattern Styrene sheet cut at a 45 degree angle. BigTallDad
That tile pattern looks great!Another approach would placing styrene on a large-grid piece of wire screen, then vacu-forming the styrene.
