porschercr Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Didn't want to hijack the other thread about polishing plastic. So, my question is..what's best for polishing clear plastic? Trevor
droogie Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I like this:https://www.walmart.com/ip/Novus-7020-Plastic-Polish-1-8-Ounces/25355017?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=7020&adid=22222222227017891601&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=51806386151&wl4=pla-83209484231&wl5=9031354&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=115793948&wl11=online&wl12=25355017&wl13=&veh=sem
Miatatom Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 If you're talking about a scratch that needs to be polished out, Novus is good. If the plastic isn't scratched and you're just wanting the plastic to look clearer, dip the parts in Future and wick off the excess at the corners with a paper towel or napkin.
Snake45 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Neither the plastic nor the polish knows or cares if it's clear or colored. Same stuff works on both. The only difference in working on them is the clear is more brittle and will crack easier (and of course can't be fixed), so a gentler hand is needed. The Trim nail sticks make super-short work of most exterior glass scratches. Interior ones too, if the concavity isn't too bad.
