Mike
You can check Preiser figures. there's also a guy on Ebay that sells G scale railroad figures that has a couple of children figures. Where do I get one? ulrich minimen were made in the 60's your best bet is an online auction service(you know the one)or local toy and model shows sometimes you can find them cheap and sometimes not.MY own opinion is about 12.00-15.00 is a fair price for the card seen above after that it is up to you how badly you want it. 'fraid not, it was like 25 years ago I built it. But I guess I had to carve and file some on the back and bottom side of "him" for a better fit. And the hands are always a problem, if you need them to grip around the steering wheel. I've been building slot 1/24 NASCAR's for a few years, so you need to have a driver, and the hands always give me grief. Yet to come up with a clever solution..... Hans, There are kits with drivers with clenched hands in them. Perhaps instead of trying to get the hands around the wheel, how about cutting the steering wheel to fit the hands? You may have thought of that already. If you don't like the driver but can use his hands, you can always cut them off and put them on a different body. Just some thoughts. shadetree
Auto World of Scranton Pa. sold them under their name way back when. Hank Borger used to use them alot back in the old "Car Model" magazine. I still have a couple from the old days. never could get mine to look like his though. Maybe the new Auto World was able to get those molds when they bought the name from Oscar Kovaleski. Chuck D.
Hello all .. just a quick note to let you know that I have been working with Steve Gill at Ulrich Models for over a year now in regards to the 24th scale Minimen .I am in the process of building a data base by means of a "pledge" from prospective buyers and NO UP FRONT MONEY . Here are the details for those who have an interest ... Please read completely ! Thanks -Chuck Darnell / Quincy Illinois Statement Released Oct. 14th / 2008 Just off the phone with Steve Gill at Ulrich Models regarding the production of 1/25th scale STYRENE Mini-men .. . As many of you know I have put a lot of work into this project cleaning up the masters with the help of an additional Minimen from FRIEND Rick Innis . The price each is going to be $5.00 per package which includes 2 / 16 piece "build and pose your way" figures with 2 pelvis' to build them either standing or sitting.. before proceeding I'll need 1500 packs sold on pre-orders .. in other words I need to pre-sell 1500 packages at $5.00 per pack which contain 2 little men in each pack. To verify this I'd be treating it as a pre-order but NO MONEY UP FRONT .. All I would need is your complete mailing address phone number and email address along with the number of packs of Minimen you would like.. I am strictly taking the "old school" approach and taking everyone's word that you will accept the product when they come off the press... Hey, if you can't take a guys a word then what is the world coming to ? An exact release date will be posted once I've achieved the 1500 packet pre-order status .. until such time - no release date - no production - period ... If you've never had a Mini-men then you don't know what you're missing as they add realism to any model . These also come with a full satisfaction gaurantee ... Please PM me or email me at : chuck_darnell@comcast.net Thanks for your support - Chuck Darnell
george 53
Guy's has anyone seen this latest post? Man it sure would be nice to have these little guys back again. I for one, have placed a pre-order for 4 packs at 5 bucks each. Now we can have drivers, passengers and pedestrians in our dioramas! For 5 bucks you can't beat this deal with a stick! Sure would make it easier for the fellas who build those BIG dio's. We could just not pay attention to this and pay stupid high prices for original "mini-men", or the Preiser guys IF you can find those too, or we could give these little dudes a chance by just orderin some! Personally I'd like to get them, but it all depends on ALL of us trying to help.We all could use people to drive our rides, and populate our garages. I think it's a GREAT idea to bring these lil guys back! It's about time too!G'wan, don't be afraid to order some, after all, they don't bite! Just for clarification purposes .. these are 24th scale that we're trying to get back in the modeling world.. the smaller 32nd scale Minimen came with little steering wheels and roll bars to fit them in the 32nd scale slotcars back in the 60's .. The 24th scale body's come in 16 parts each with 2 pevis' so they can be built for standing or sitting .. ! there's 2 - 24th scale men in a pack at $5.00 a pack .. Thanks for any support you may offer ... Chuck Darnell

Any chance these things will eventually make it to retail locations? Edited November 30, 2010 by ra7c7er
