Daddyfink Posted July 12, 2017 Author Posted July 12, 2017 Gregg, Dave Ambrose and myself are the mods. Good to know!
Dave Ambrose Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 I'm also the site administrator. I keep the underlying software and servers working properly.
Roadrunner Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 So, one mod and a part time mod.Apparently so, which is probably too few, but they seem to do a pretty good job of it, despite the heavy traffic here.
martinfan5 Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 (edited) There was at one time a mod for the truck section. Edited July 12, 2017 by martinfan5
Modeltruckbuilder Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 There was at one time a mod for the truck section. What ever happened with that? Tim hasn't logged in here since March. Prior to that he hadn't logged in for over a year.
Xingu Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 This is where all members can pitch in. While surfing around the site if you see something you feel is in the wrong place, you can click "report post" and it will send an email directly to the moderators. We can then check on the report and take the appropriate action. There are several members that already do that and it is a tremendous help.Since this forum has a good amount of daily traffic, it is hard for us to read every post. Just this week I have learned that I need to watch the "Trading Post" a bit more closely, as some folks were posting items there that should have been in the "Wanted" section.

Dragline Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 As good as you guys are [Mike, Dave], I think there is a sense of loss that some might not quantify, or some might not even notice. For quite a few of us, it's clear who is missing.Harry...Harry moved threads as needed. He was constantly available and generally here quite a lot. It's Harry's touch that is missing.Harry seemed omnipresent at times. Able to calm threads that were going awry. Give a scolding where needed with a firm but honest hand.It is Harry's presence we are missing. That I am missing... What Harry did for this site had/has a great deal to do with why it grew and became what it is this very moment I am typing this.Harry's honesty and wry humor was a perfect foil to the rest of us who bumble around here posting our opinions and builds for the world to see. There is NO example of Harry ever getting flushed or short with anyone in all the time I've been here. His Admin skills were benign yet hands on, on a level I think few will ever match. I guess i just miss Harry. Bob

Eshaver Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Harry was wayyyyyy better than several I have butted heads with hrere over the years but he was indeed a person whom I had moderate disagreements with too. Look, I was a moderator myself on a competing Model forum for years . I got my self chomped on by members as being a "Moderator " is no bed of roses .

I could never have the patience that Harry had. Then again, a "thank you" goes out to Michael & Dave. Big shoes to fill.
