Don Sikora II Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Have any of you guys tried Tamiya's Light-Curing Putty (Item 87076)? Any insights or tips? I bought a tube of this last week from Tower Hobbies, it isn't cheap at $12+ for a 34g tube which is about the same size as Tamiya's Basic Putty. The description is very interesting, there is no mixing and it cures after 1 minute in direct sunlight or two minutes under flourescent light and supposedly has minimal shrinkage. The directions are pretty detailed (and in Engish!) you have to be careful about the light you use in in though and they give you a heavy black plastic bag to store the tube in.
Zoom Zoom Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 A guy in our club bought some, tried it, wasn't terribly impressed. Let us know how it works for you.
DrGlueblob Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 It's okay for making a quick copy of a raised detail, long as it's pretty small. I use it in a dark room and quickly put the tube back in it's opaque bag.
