oldcarfan Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 We live in Austin now, so all we are seeing is rain and wind, but I grew up in Ingleside which was just hit dead center by hurricane Harvey. Most of my friends have checked in, but the damage is pretty severe. Anyone on here in the path and able to check in, let us know how you are doing.
mikemodeler Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Prayers to you and your friends that the damage is minimal and that you all get through this safely.
oldcarfan Posted August 27, 2017 Author Posted August 27, 2017 A lot of friends decided to tough it out down there. Most have checked in, a lot of damage, some are taking shelter on second floors or roofs.
Ben Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 I'm in San Antonio. We pretty much dogged a bullit!
jack lira Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 were sitting at 30 in of rain but were high and dry for now
Rob Hall Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Sounds like it's been pretty dreadful in Houston and the Gulf Coast. Reminds me of growing up in the Florida Keys in the 80s and the constant threat of hurricanes....weathered a few, but was living in Ohio when the big one (Andrew) hit in '92.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Hmmmm...I have a couple cars stored in a small inland town that's much flooded. Haven't been able to get a phone call through to the management yet. May be under water. Bugger.
