Mercuryman54 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 This going to date it's self!! I used the AMT 1949 Mercury & 1953 Ford pickup. This was built close to 30 years ago. This was my first major kit modification. The paint is L'Oreal Sea Violet nail polish. It was also rubbed with a Boss 429 engine. The bed cover was made from Kleenex and Elmers glue/water mixture laid over the bed and supports. Thanks for looking. 1
misterNNL Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) Thanks for posting your classic custom roadster pick up. I did chuckle at how you described the nail polish paint job as "rubbed with a 429 boss motor".That sounds like a heavy and awkward job. :-) Edited September 10, 2017 by misterNNL My kindle is smarter than I am.

ybsluos Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Dennis, I remember seeing this model in a magazine years ago. I always loved it and it still looks great.-Mark 1
Zippi Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Pretty sharp for the age. Looks like it was built yesterday. 1
