One way is to remove everything except the frame rails, and use other suspension bits.

Another obvious solution is the Revell '40 chassis. It fits the AMT body very well. The Revell chassis is a vast improvement.

The Revell '37 chassis is another option (Ford used the basic chassis from '35 through '40...'41 on the pickup), though the '37 chassis is 1/24, so it takes a little massaging.

Years ago if I remember correctly there was an write up in a model mag, I think they used a for pickup I am thinking a Ford courier or the Revell 56 Ford pickup.  Don't quote me.

I used the chassis under the lindberg 37 ford kit , they're cheap at Ollie's ,

That chassis is from the momogram 37 ford convertible. The lindberg kits have a corvette front and rear. Both are good choices.
