Harry P. Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 (edited) OK...I'm back! Vegas is fine in small doses, but after 4 days out there I'm ready to come back to reality... Anyhoo...real or model? The answer: REAL! Edited June 27, 2008 by harrypri
george 53 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 OK Harry, Glad to see you back!!!Hope you enjoyed Vegas. NOW, this looks real to me, but I got a feelin it's just a ruse to fool us!I'm goin with Model on this one, ALTHOUGH it LOOKS like the real deal!I think yer jus makin up for lost time!######, yer good!
ABC Auto Industry Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 It's real to me, but there may have been background trickery involved...
Guest zebm1 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Model, tha exhaust Gill slits are painted............
MrObsessive Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I voted real on this one............something not "model like" about it. Just the same, if it is a model.........I wanna know who makes it!!!! That's one of my favorite racing Ferrari's next to the '58 Testarossa, and the series 1 250 GTO! .............and yes, I know the exact year and model Ferrari it is, (how many were made too!) but I won't give it away here. ........
mikemodeler Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Real, cuz like Bill, something about the photo screams "real" to me. If it is a model (or diecast), then my hat is off to whomever built it as it looks very realistic and convincing. Mike
horsepower Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I'm gonna go with the majority at this time, & say real, jus' 'cause.
kelson Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Something about it say's real ,but i'm gonna go with'model'.
Harry P. Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 Gotta B Real. Not even Harry can fake leaves like the ones there. Are you kidding? I can fake a photo so well you'd never know it was faked. Who do you think does all the "DOG-FACED BABY!" and "BIGFOOT SIGHTED!!" covers for the Enquirer???
george 53 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Guy's Guy's Guy's, Harry can make yur own mama look like shes ona moon! When you"s gonna learn? look for the little stuff he mightov missed. He CAN fool your EYES! USE THE FORCE my Brethrin, only THEN can you see thru the haze!
evilone Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 real and big foot dose exist only after im done painting though
Nick F40 Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 (edited) That is one sexy babe!! and this one is in my all time favorites. Like what Bill said, something just yells REAL to me. I am a Ferrari guy at heart, very few people find that out. Edited June 25, 2008 by Nick F40
gto guy Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 (edited) GOTTA SAY MODEL. JUST TO BE DIFFERENT gto guy Edited June 26, 2008 by gto guy
Harry P. Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 I fooled about 33% of you. Not too bad... It's REAL! I thought it looked sort of like a high-end diecast...maybe some of you thought the same. Next ROM coming MONDAY!
george 53 Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Harry, your so slick you really had me on this one.The ONLY thing that nagged me was the scoop on the left rear quarter panel,It's so thin that it was buggin me,but I figgered it coulda be P/E'd.That sure is a purty car though! Was it in Vegas too?
MrObsessive Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Hey, I was right! I LOVE this car! This is a 1963 Ferrari 330 LMB...........one of only 4 made. There was a 5th one, but it was actually a rebodied 250 GTO (no doubt previously crashed) as it was still on the shorter 250 GTO chassis. I hope with the recent spate of new vintage Ferrari kits..........someone will finally see fit to kit this one! Extra points for you guys if you can say why the car has those curious square bulges in the rear fenders. :D
george 53 Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Bill, they aren't just cooling scoops? Are they for tyre(like the Brits say) clearance?

MrObsessive Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 (edited) Bill, they aren't just cooling scoops? Are they for tyre(like the Brits say) clearance? Yup George......you get the extra points! The 330 LMB's had wider tires in the rear than the standard GTO's so Ferrari simply cut out those squares and covered 'em to clear the tires. Y'know for those hard cornering moves? I like how they combined the front end of the Series I GTO but it had the back end of the then new 250 Lusso. (Another one I want someone to kit!) IIRC, they ran with 4 liter V-12's while the regular GTO's (save for a couple) ran with 3 liter's. I've got a ton of photos of that car, as I'd like to build a right hander if someone ever makes a decent kit of it. Edited June 27, 2008 by MrObsessive

So the buldge is kind of like the NASCAR Superbirds. You know what's funny, you can have fun with a 2-4L 12 cylinder, everybody just knows the new high litre engines they think these are ######. Give me an old Ferrari over a new one ANYDAY! Edited June 27, 2008 by Nick F40
