From what I can find, they were made in 1905-08.  I think I have a shot of the sign from last years show, I'll have to see if there is any info on it.  Back up drive is archived, so might take a bit.  They were built for NYC so the driver could see over the horse drawn wagons that filled the streets in the early 1900's.

Looks like with the chain drive, solid rubber tires and spoked wheels, a credible model could be built using one of the Monogram '26 Mack Bulldogs as a starting point.
