Mike77 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) To my knowledge Mack never made a double-bunk Cruiseliner so I thought it would be fun to make a "what if" model of one. I have more work to do on it with sanding and primer, but you get the idea... Edited November 6, 2017 by Mike77
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Very cool project! There were some Transtars converted into double bunks, why couldn't there have been some Cruiseliners too. Looking forward to seeing more!
extmcdriver Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Great start. I built one of these a few years back. I can't remember the Overdrive edition, it was written Mack actually built a few prototype double bunk Cruiseliners.

gatorincebu Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Great looking project ! One that I have thought of doing. But never found the roun to it ! Be Well Gator
extmcdriver Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Mike,If you look at the big rigs under glass section, currently on page 14 labeled Mixed Bag of Cabovers, half way down is a picture of my Mack Cruiseliner double bunk.
extmcdriver Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Figured out a way to present this, here ya go Mike.
Mike77 Posted November 8, 2017 Author Posted November 8, 2017 That's awesome, as is the Aerodyne! Coincidentally those are the fenders I was thinking about using as well. Your model gives me even more motivation on this build, thanks!
Mike77 Posted November 17, 2017 Author Posted November 17, 2017 Thanks guys, especially Rick who gave me some photographic inspiration. I've got color on the cab, I just have to finish some stripe work and I'll post cab pics soon. I'm working 6 days a week right now so I'll have to take baby steps with this one.
Mike77 Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 I have the cab painted and striped, now it's time to gradually get working on the engine & chassis. I'm sure I'll have to stretch the frame a bit to accommodate the longer cab.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Now that is a sharp looking paint job!!!!
landman Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Now that is a sharp looking paint job!!!!Oh yes!
Rick315-8 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I really like this concept,...looking forward to seeing your progress on this one.
Mike77 Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 Thanks guys! I'm trying to decide what direction I want to go with this truck. Given my penchant for bling I'm leaning toward something "modern-retro" if that makes any sense.
gatorincebu Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 I like your paint job. The colors work well together . Be Well Gator
Mike77 Posted December 4, 2017 Author Posted December 4, 2017 Thanks! I have the chassis mostly done, just a couple more things to do to it before I get it painted...hopefully this coming weekend. After that I'll start on the engine. It usually doesn't take me this long to do a build but like most of us life gets in the way of our hobbies.
Mike77 Posted December 16, 2017 Author Posted December 16, 2017 I've finally made enough progress on this project to post a couple of update photos. I'm in the home stretch now and I'm hoping I'll be able to put this one "Under Glass" soon.
