El Caballo
Some may wonder why the gray engine compartment, well, if there are any leaks they show up better on gray than black. I️ have seen many race cars set up like that. I️ did a bit of kit bashing as well, the seats are from the 1965 Pontiac GP model. espo
Ford had the best looking hood design in the "Tear Drop" hood. You are correct in the gray engine compartment and even the whole underside of the car. The race cars I was involved in we used an even lighter shade since you were usually working with minimal light and you would often be under the car with nothing but some card board between you and the gravel. On models I have used Tamiya AS-26 Light Ghost Grey aircraft color and it is very close to what we used on the 1:1 cars.
El Caballo
I am have a hell of a time trying to get the headers to just reach the engine. I could remove the tie rods and crosslink bit that glues to the chassis or do a curbside, how aggravating. >:-(
