I am looking for a non-metallic silver paint suitable for the silver vinyl inserts for the Revell 1957 Chevy Convertible. I have tried a few colors but they all don't look right or show up as a metallic silver.

I would just use a light gray.

If you want a slight metallic sheen, a shot of clear pearl afterwards would do the trick.

I second that. The gray looks close to Model Master FS36231 Dark Gull Gray (used for airplane cockpits).

Duck tape?

Might be a close match. Only problem is...it would look like duck tape:lol:

Well, the seats in the photo pretty much look like duct tape, so why not? :)

Tamiya offers a couple of possibilities. AS-12 Bare-Metal Silver in their Military paint line and TS-17 Gloss Aluminum might work with a light dusting of flat clear.
