Interesting. I didn';t realize that Crosstown were that into the performance stuff. They're still around, about 5 minutes from me, and they're just a run of the mill bland Chrysler dealer now.

Such is the fate of many organisations . I , too , was surprised to see that Crosstown was still in business !

Having just read the entire article and that I am located not far from the Canadian border I am more determined now to go look at the VIN on the Swinger I found. Who knows....

Would be cool to find one.

Is the tag on the dash as it is on most vehicles? Not sure if the guy is friendly or not. Never have gotten him to answer the door.

The V.I.N.s are as follows :

1970 : LM23H0R

1971 : LL23H1R

1972 : LL23H2R

All 1970 Swinger 340s were built in Windsor , Ontario , regardless of their destination ( e.g. , USA , Canada , Export ) . That was the only year for the Rallye Gauges ( round speedometre ; round provision for fuel level / ammetre / engine temperature/ ... ) .

The 1971 and 1972 models were also built only in Windsor ( other '71 and '72 models were built in Los Angeles [1971] and Hamtramck [1971-1976] , in addition to the Duster and Demon / Dart Sport ) . These were based upon the el-strippo "Special" trim model ( "LL" ) .

It would appear to me that the car in the photo you've provided is of 1970 vintage ( "Swinger" emblems on the quarter panels ) , though it could very well be a 1971 (definitely not a '72) .

Check its V.I.N. . No need for the last 6-digits ; only the first 7 will be needed to ascertain its heritage .

St Albert Dodge is a little more interesting... this was the view out front a couple of months ago, with an A12 '69 Coronet in the showroom to boot B)

St Albert Dodge is part of the same auto group as Sherwood Dodge, who have a pretty big selection of classic Mopar stuff, and other classics, for sale. https://www.sherwooddodge.ca/used-inventory/index.htm?year=1880-1980&sortBy=year+asc&
