They are not scans. They take "blue prints" of the front, side, top and rear and use them. Then they obtain pictures of the subject that show other views. There is no he. It's a company and I'm not too sure that the files aren't free lanced. I agree, this is very exiting to see. One can wonder if Revell, Moebius, RC2, Tamiya and all the others will be outperformed one day. Think a bit in to the future. One can imagine that having a 3d printer at home will be about as common as having a normal printer contected to you computer today. I'm guessing that you will see online stores selling ready to print 3d files for the same price as a current kit and one can print it at home.

That makes them even less useful, cuz from a few I saw they're not factory blueprints but sales literature drawings, you'd have to go to the OEM, to get the real deal, get permission and pass the cashier

 

If I ever win the Jackpot, 2 friends and I will start a scanning biz, so we can sell those files to toy, model companies and even companies who are in the 1:1 resto biz.....ah it soo great to dream, wish me luck
