Brian Fishburn Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Katie likes to have three projects going at a time. I recently established upon her a new rule that two of the three on the bench at a time have to be cars from the "stalled project" shelf. So, at the current time. I have three longrooofs on the bench, two of which are ready to come off. The non-stalled one is a 41 Ford Woody custom. I dumped the kit's FI flattie for the one from Revell's new 32 Ford sedan. It's nearly complete. I resurrected this one, and it's rolling along nicely. I changed my mind on color, but fortunately the basecoat you see here worked just fine with the new color scheme This one is REALLY close to finished, now. The dullcoat I put on the body after decalling looks awful, so this is gonna be a ten footer for sure. Believe it or not, this is my first resin body completion. I need only to finish up the surfboard and ice chest for the cargo area. In addition, I'm doing a figure paitning demo at an upcoming clubmeeting, so I'm modifying and prepping several (6-10) new versions of Katie for the demo. I've also already decided the next three to hit the bench as these three come off. Katie wants to go racing, so I'm going to let her build a Distinctive Motors sponsored race car (that's the new project) and the two stallers are Coupe Devil and a 60 olds custom

MrObsessive Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 ya gotta give me credit, im just a kid. i wish i grew up w. tht show though... Well, I "grew up" with that show but never cared for it except for the car. David Soul also was a singer while that show was on back in '77. He had a #1 hit with the song "Don't Give Up on Us ". Anyone here remember that one??
george 53 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Bill, wasn't that out around the same time as Barry Manilows "MANDY"? another syrupy type of song in the same vein?Yeesh I had forgotten BOTH those songs and now I'm afeared their both gonna haunt me!
62SS Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Yes Bill Im sorry to say that I do remember that song. Like finger nails on a chalkboard.
84vanagon Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Thanks Bill and George. I'm gonna have to put some Zeppelin on to get those songs outta my head!

The Modeling Hermit Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Okay, I am not sure what you are talking about. The backwards tank? Or the weird fabricated tank experiment? The experiment, although it does sound like something one of those big companies might do. I definitely would expect it of the government. LOL
