crowe-t Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) Has anyone used Dupli-Color Paint Shop Primer? It comes in a quart for around $20(US). It doesn't say high build or filler so I'm wondering if it's a thin primer? Edited January 23, 2018 by crowe-t
HDDan Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 (edited) I just tried this stuff in a can. It works nice if you use lots of thin coats. as soon as it starts to pool it pulls away from the substrate. 30 minutes it's ready to sand. 800-2000 grit wet worked well for me. crowe-t Posted January 25, 2018 Author Posted January 25, 2018 I have the Duplicolor sandable in the spray can. I was wondering if anyone has used the Paint Shop Primer that comes in the quart can.
BigTallDad Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 A quart can would be a life-time supply for me. Why risk the paint drying out after repeated openings (just to get a small amount)?
vintagercr Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I've always bought the spray can with great results. You can buy cheaper brands but I like the way it lays down.
Dave Van Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I use Duplu-color #1699 gray primer sealer for 20 years. My local store carries it at $4 for the big can. Great sruff
Greg Busby Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 I also use the 2 in 1 Primer in a spray can it is by far the best primer I've used. I have also used the Gray Primer Sealer as well the Primer Sealer is my go to primer most of the time
