Old guy here who built models - mostly cars, for a lifetime/  I;ve stepped up to doing the real thing for a some time now, but I just came across a very nice, NOS - un-built,  Renwal 1/12th scale Ferrari 275 GTB kit and would like to know the value of it.  I believe its a mid to late 60's kit but there is no date anywhere.  All intact/unopened pieces with instruction/"guarantee" and a nice box.   Any idea of its value?  Thanks,

Don't know the value of the kit, IMHO kits were meant to be built. The only reason I wouldn't build it if I was using it for an investment for sale later. That being said, the ultimate decision is up to the person who owns it. Know this doesn't help much, but just one mans opinion. I'm sure others will weigh in on this topic.

Should be $100-$200 depending upon how nice the box is. Check out completed listings on ebay to get a good idea.

Hi Robert.... I cannot value this kit for you, but one was sold on Ebay one week ago, missing some parts, for only $20.50 - Not sure if this is a typical price, which I realise does not help you, but if it was me I would probably rather build the Ferrari rather than keep it in the box..... that's just me!

Thanks for the replies.  That is what I thought on value and will probably put this kit on eBay.  I really do not have time for models again because I have 5 full-sized "kits" I'm working on now.  Building models is really what got my interest in cars when I was young.  In 1964, we lived in Miami, FL and had friends who lived on a lake in Sebring.  We were up there visiting and my dad told me I could take the car to the races - (the "12 hrs of Sebring" sports car race).  I was 16 and another boy went with me.  We had my dads 60 Pontiac Catalina convertible and were sitting in line to get in.  All of a sudden the ground started to shake and  heard this loud rumbling.  I looked in the rear view mirror, but it was vibrating.  I held the mirror and realized it was four Ferrari 250 GTOs, behind me, trying to get into the track as well.  They pulled around us and rumbled slowly past on the drivers side.  It was love at first sight/sound....  I like cobras too, but nothing is as pretty as a red 250 GTO.

thanks,
