Reegs Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 (edited) What are the ridges in the floor pan called? For the life of me I can't remember. Edited March 20, 2018 by Reegs
BigTallDad Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I'm not aware off any specific name for them. 27 minutes ago, Reegs said: What are the ridges in the floor pan called? For the life of me I can't remember.
afx Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Are your talking about the bead rolls pressed into the floor pan to add rigidity?
espo Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 They were done to stiffen the floor boards. Like any large flat metal surface without the ribs the metal will flex and even make a booming sound under certain conditions. The ribs actually add strength to the floor boards.
1930fordpickup Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Stifling ribs is what I have been told for years.
Reegs Posted March 22, 2018 Author Posted March 22, 2018 (edited) Thanks, gents. Stifling or stiffening or reinforcement ribs. I was probably trying to remember "stiffening ribs". Edited March 22, 2018 by Reegs
